I'm going to the dermatologist soon for acne, what can I expect?
I 'm 19 and I have moderate acne. I 'm going to tell him that I 've used all sorts of creams for my face and none of them help, that my make-up is completely oil-free and safe, that I 've been breaking out more now than I ever did during puberty.So, what can I expect? I am wondering what he will prescribe me.I have tried both products the first answerer mentioned - Proactiv AND Clean and Clear 's benzoyl peroxide. Neither helped. Maybe the doc could prescribe me birth control..? I 've heard it helps with acne a lot.

ok i only have acne on my nose and it 's really gross so i use like drugstore acne cream but should i go to the derm. ? i also have blackheads that won 't go away (i tried biore pore strips, they did nothing!)

Hey yall, Is anyone out there from Columbia, SC who has had good experience with a dermatologist in the Columbia area who has helped clearing adult acne? I have bad acne for 10 years and have tried too many acne fighting products on the market to count ( ex. proactiv, zyporex, oxycerin, murad, clean & clear to name a few) , and all of them simply do not work.I 'm looking for a good doctor!! went to the doc for acute acne on monday he gave me zineryt to use at night and a cleanser in the morning..the cleanser has no name or anything it was prescription and all it says is "2% salicylic acid 50% surgical spirits use in morning as a cleanser " im not a doctor or anything but im training to be a beauty therapist and to me 50% surgical spirits on the face seems wrong? could this be right or could the pharmacist have made a mistake? just wanna put me mind at ease so my skin doesnt peel off or anything lol thanks x

I have moderate acne that is better sometimes and really bad other times. I just want some expert advice, i use the best skin care available to me and it just doesn 't do the job for long, i dont have insurance but still want to see a derm, what do you think. btw i live in the Detroit area of Michigan.

i am a 16 year old female and i have severe acne. i have taken every single topical gel, antibiotic, anything that can be used for acne and nothing worked for me. Yes, not even Proactiv solutions could perform miracles on me. my next step is to take accutane and i need some advice for the risks, dangers, side effects, or just any information about it.i was also wondering if taking different types of vitamins would help. i heard a, zink, types of b, and c vitamins help, but does this really work? there is something called Derma Klear Akne-Zyme that is a combination of a bunch of vitamins, but is this the way to go? any advice or information would be helpful. thanks!

I have acne pretty bad. on my chin I have zits, and those red bumps. and they kinda itch. on my nose I have black heads and an occasional pimple on there. on my forehead, I have little bumps youd only noticed if you looked closely. but theres many of them! HELPP! and I get zits on my forhead too.to make it worse, my face gets REALLY OILY! within the first 10 minutes I wash it. its GROOSSS! please help!!!proactive doesnt help! so dont suggest it. I have to wave but it doesnt work eitherkeep in mind i have sensitive skin. HELP! im desperate.

i dont have bad acne but its still noticable and it bothers meand thats what i asked for on my birthday was to go see a dermotoligist because i had wanted to for SOOO LONG!! but my grandma allways said nowell she finally said i could for my bday present (i live with my grandma)and the doctor looked at me and was just like "oh its really not that bad " and i mean i know its not that bad and its not like i have horrible disfiguring acne but i still want clear skinand she didnt even want to prescribe me any medicine she just told me just to use benzoyl peroxide and recomended some over the counter stuff and i was really MAD!! because why would i go to see a motherfukcin dermatologist if i hadent tried stuff from the store already then she finally gave me some stuff called clyndamyiacinand she said that "i shouldnt worry about this " and "its not that serios " and that "i really didnt even need to come in for this "i felt so stupid and i was about to start crying right in her office because this was suppose to be my bday present and she acted like i was wasteing her timei wated to cry untill i got outside tho and i looked up clyndamyaicin online and its main treatment is not even for acnebtw this was the only thing i got for my birthday
I have a dermatologist appointment in a month and i have under eye darkness and acne with really sensitiv skin?
what are good products that could be prescribed that could help with these conditions. Im currently cleansing my skin and taking an antibiotic that i just got from my doctor about 2 weeks ago i was also prescribe clindoxyl and for the first week i used it it was working fine and i had no irritations but into the second week i started peeling and i got excessive redness i still continued for another week but the irritation didnt slow down so i stopped my acne right now is inbetween mild and moderate. and i also have back acne but ever since i started a neutregena body scrub along with cleansing and the antibiotics there have been only 2 new heads in the last 3 weeks and i can now use the clindoxyl for those new ones.

i 've tried many different things from stores, and proactiv too, it worked for a little while but i have to wash my face two times a day everyday and if i forget one or two days then i get horrible break outs, i just can 't keep up with it. right now my acne is really bad, the worst it 's ever been. i would rather take a medication then have another thing to wash my face with, which would they more likely want me to do? did going to the dermatologist help you with your acne problems?
