I've had acne since i was in 2nd grade and i don't care if you don't believe me. since then, i continue to struggle with it. i was on an antibiotic which seemed to help a little. finally, last year it was completely cleared up. but... now its back. it was fine when i switched to proactive a few months ago, and then i switched to "sea breeze" and it seemed to be fine for a about a week but now its terrible again! the only other thing i can think of is swimming in gym class which we have been doing for the past 3 weeks. however, this just started about a week ago Earlier this year: http://s547.photobucket.com/albums/hh455/omgomgomg1357/?action=view¤t=n1393457955_54126_9429.jpg Now : http://s547.photobucket.com/albums/hh455/omgomgomg1357/?action=view¤t=Photo277.jpg PLEASE HELP ME teenage vampire.. no im not victoria... my names kyleigh hence the avatar... |

I too suffered from bad acne.. but it 's getting better. Whether you are sexual active or not, ortho trycyclin lo birthcontrol pills has helped my acne insanly. I can 't even descrive it. Many types of birthcontrol pills (ive heart Yaz was best) helps with acne. Other forms of birth control such as depo, the patch, or rings don 't help or worsen acne. I suggest speaking with your doctors and parents about getting on birth control. if ance still dont improve ask your doctor about EDIT*** and even though someone told you above that pool water is good for your acne, it actually irritates it more. salt water is what is good for your face, if you swim in the ocean alot it works wonders. ****another edit, sorry wash your face twice a day. going back to pro active or not doesnt matter. i used to be on it and it worked great but now it does nothing for me remember that switching facial cleansers too much will also confuse your skin and make you break out more. i use sheer cover make up and it is a BLESSING to me on days i do have break outs. i will never use anything else on my face. also.. try changing your pillow case every few days because even if you wash your face right before you go to sleep, as soon as you lay down you 're just putting your face right back in all the bacteria you washed off. or put a new clean towl over your pillow every night. its small but it helps. another trick i use for oil control (because oil blocks your pores and looks gross) every time i use the restroom i take a new toilett seat cover out of the dispenser and blot my face all over with it, it absorbs all the oil perfectly. |

The chlorine in a swimming pool actually helps your face... But, anyway, why don 't you just go back onto ProActive? Or see a dermatologist. You could also try using Sunflower Oil for your lotion.. Stress levels might be a factor, too... or just your chocolate input due to the season? |

Try Nature 's Cure. My son had been using Proactive for 1 year and it only made his skin worse. Once he started using Nature 's Cure, within 3 weeks his skin started clearing up. Also, for 3 months now hes been eating Gala Apples. 1 Once a day, and drinks plenty of juice, water, and ice tea on occasion. |

If you have tried benzoyl peroxide, and salicylic acid and they don 't work, benzoyl in particular usually works very well and is available cheaply OTC at any drugstore, time to see a dermatologist for prescription strength cream. |

You need to wash your face twice a day, deep clean it. get back on proactiv and visit a dermatologist. they can help you wonders. also be sure your using bare minerals makeup. that keeps your skin clear and doesnt clog pores. also if you put MINT toothpast on your skin it helps. just rub an even amount of mint toothpaste all over your face, then go to sleep (do this mask at night) then wake up in the morning and take the toothpaste off with a warm wash cloth. do this 2-3 times a week for a month and you will see MAJOR results. it works. trust me. GOOD LUCK! |

My sister in law is an esthetician and she helped me a ton with my acne problem. First what you eat does matter, second use mineral based make up to help with your skin, third invest in a derma wand (it kills bacteria on the skins ...it helps with acne and wrinkles.....it ROCKS) I hope this helps....it sure did help me! |

Since you mentioned high school, I assume you are in your teens - and thus in the throes of puberty, which can wreak havoc on your skin. Acne since 2nd grade is pretty unusual - have you seen a dermatologist? Otherwise, try this: 1. Eat healthy. Lots of leafy greens. Not too much salt. Lots of water. 2. No smoking. 3. Use plain, organic yogurt on your face as a mask. This will calm the skin. 4. Purchase capsules of vitamin E. Break open a capsule using a needle, and apply to any acne scars. 5. Go back on Proactiv! Sounds like it worked for you. And good luck :) |

If nothings working and your really desprate talk to a dermetalogist about acutane its the most powerful stuff out there. im on it now and it has been fantastic. but i urge u only to do it if u desperatly want to get rid of your acne. the most common side affects are extremly dry lips and and chafing around the mouth which i have right now. for this medicine u will alo need to get blood taken after a months use to check cholesteral levels. and to get the drug perscription u will need ur social security number. so this drug is pretty powerful so take it under advisment before taking it. |
