(Posted by: middlegirl on 2010-02-01 04:43:07)

I usually just use the sea face cleaner and some walgreens face scrub. but a couple of months ago i bought cvs brand acne treatment gel and my face got red and blotchy and suuuuuper itch, so i dropped it. but for the past couple of weeks ive been breaking out so i decided to buy the clearasil ultra acne clearing gel wash, and yet again my face started to ich but it wasnt as red or as itchy. so am i alergic to something in these products or whats going on?

Yes my skin as well always gets an allergic reaction from them, what I use now, is just water and salt mixed together and I rub it on my face, to dry out the acne, then after that I was my face with just water, until I get all of the salt out and then I rub an ice cube on my face to close my pores. What i also relized helps stop acne is by just not touching, I noticed that the less time I spend popping them in the mirror the less acne I have.

Hi bettgirl, All commercial anti-acne products contain ingredients that will cause some reaction in someone. In some cases, it 's the active compound that 's supposed to clear your acne - it will clear your acne but give you some unwanted bonus reactions. ;) I would suggest you try some herbal products. Try a sample (if available) before buying. Even some herbal products have ingredients that can cause allergic reactions. Some acne products have it in fine print that after application you shouldn 't expose your skin to direct sunlight for a few hours.
