Acne - Skin Care

Question: I have one pretty big acne cyst?

It's hard, and won't form a head! How much would they charge at the dermatologist's office to remove this cyst or drain it!?!

Cysts never form heads. they are just inflamed tissue. exfoliate it EVERY DAY AND NIGHT with an acne scrub and then moisturize. sorry i know they suck :( Cystic acne is the kind that can cause scarring. you need to go and get some kind of prescription to prevent this. DONT POP IT!

Do you have insurance? if so then the copay. If not then you can ask the office what they charge. Usually around $65- $85 for most but since I don 't know where you are it could be more. Good luck.

Sometimes you can use warm compresses to the cyst to bring it to a draining point.But I would say to go to your MD. and have it lanced so the puss can drain out and then it will start the healing process A cyst is a closed fluid-filled sac embedded in tissue.Sometimes they will prescribe an antibiotic to fight the inflammation or infection.
