Question: How in the world do i get rid of my annoying acne?
(Posted by: J K on 2008-11-17 17:25:03)
I have acne pretty much everywhere and I really want to put a stop to it once and for all (which is kind of hard). Right now I'm using this stuff called "Apricot Scrub" (which is OTC) to wash my face day and night. I'm also taking medicine my dermatologist prescribed for me at night. The problem is I can be very forgetful and not really patient. I do pop my bumps a lot and I know this isn't really good for my skin, but I just get frustrated when I look in the mirror and start popping away my blackheads and whiteheads. If you could help me out here I'd really appreciate it. Oh, and I don't know if this would help or not, but I've got really oily skin... |

All the answers are pretty good. My dermatologist told me that scrubs can sometimes worsen acne because it irritates the skin. You should go back to your dermatologist and tell him/ her that you 're not seeing results and you want a cream that 's stronger. = ) Goodluck |

Find a mary-kay consualtent near you. I had acne so bad i didn 't even like going out of the house. but mary kay took almost all of it away. and they have many types of face wash for many different skin types. |

Clearisil works for those who are impatient. Just swipe it over 2-3 times a day, rather than going through the whole wet, wash, rinse, dry, red-face etc. And still do the whole routine every once in a while (when you remember). Mixing perscribed med 's also throws the reg. store-bought stuff outta-whack cause its not made for skin thats already being treated. Another PS- the more you dry your skin out with that s*** the oilier it gets. your skin makes MORE oils when it senses that your skin is dry, so if you also moisturize, it helps. |

Hope you 'll take advice from an ol 'lady who has been there!!1. stop using the apricot scrub.Talk to your doctor to recommend which cleanser to use.I use a bio-derm product which is on the $$$ side but worth it.2. get a calendar to help you remember to take your meds. that 's one of the reasons you have not noticed any improvement.Must take them reg.just mark the calendar every day and have it somewhere you will see it every day ie:fridge ,mirror etc.STOP popping those darn things that is doing permanent damage. You 're young and want to look good, but the more you touch your face the harder it will be to rid them.Keep Smiling!!! granny B |
