Question: What gets rid of acne best?

Hi. I have really bad acne, on my face and body. For my face, it's mostly on my forehead, nose area, and some one my chin. It's very red, and there are both small and big pimples. On my face, it's my chest, shoulders, and back. I've tried a lot of things, and given them all time to work. These things include witch hazel, ProActive, Noxzema, and regular acne cream. I've even tried nothing but just washing my face regularly. I have an appointment with my doctor soon, but until then, I'd like to do something to try to improve my acne. Any suggestions? They are very much appreciated! Thank you!
