Different things work for different people, but heres my story: proactive didnt do anything for me. i went to the dermatologist and used several different products. and took a few different antibiotics before i ended up on bactrim, which worked the best. retin-a is a good cream, also the sulfa facemasks are awesome. best over the counter facewash is neutrogena oil free acne wash. could take weeks to see a huge improvement or months even .. but the most important thing you can do is keep your face clean and dry (wash it 2 times a day) and drink plenty of water. oh, and dont pick (i was a picker... and ive learned if its not ready, it may just go away on its own) sorry..tmi.... anyway good luck!

Don 't use anything with beads in it (I forgot what it 's called) because they can scratch your skin. I use Garnier fruit naturals for the day, and clean and clear for at night. They seem to work well for me. It also depends on how oily your skin is. I heard from the lady that worked on my skin the other day at the spa thingie = p She said that Pro active wasn 't good for your skin because it throws your PH level off the wack.

Patricia Wexler products from Bath and Body Works are the only thing that has ever worked for me. There is an acne starter kit that worked very quickly for me. Everyone is different though and a dermatologist would probably have the best solutions. Good luck, I know how you feel!

Diet is the biggest factor in acne. Eliminate processed sugars, processed grains, and pasteurized dairy products from your diet. Eat a well balanced nutritious diet. You need vitamins A & D for healthy skin. Get plenty of sunlight every day. Take a high quality probiotic Proactive and ClearPores are both suppose to work well but can be expensive. Though this is treating the symptoms than the cause. Don 't wash excessively and don 't use harsh soaps, anti-bacterial soaps, or alcohol. Doing so causes the skin to produce more oil to compensate for what you 're washing off. Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash Daily Scrub, Stridex Maximum Strength ALCOHOL FREE Acne pads, and treating with Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense Lotion can help. Spot treat with Tea Tree Oil. All this is gentle on the skin and won 't cause extra oil production while actively treating the acne. Still treating the symptoms not the cause, but it may be helpful.
