Cystic acne problem PLEASE HELP!!!?
I didnt really suffer from an acne problem until is was 17, which i started getting 5 in each cheek. Now im 19, and i have been getting 3 or 4 cystic acne on my shoulder area. I went to the doctor (i have no insurance) and i was prescribed erythromycin pills with 5% benzoyl perox. However, it didnt work, and i am VERYworried that my cystic acne will spread to my back. will this ever happen? i really am afraid that i have to use accutane, which is terribly expensive. how do i prevent this acne from spreading while i save money for medicine??

What should i take? I have suffered from cystic acne for years :( Nothing works. Am likely to try accutane as a last resort next year.At the moment the left side of my face looks like ive been in a scrap with mike tyson, and is very swollen. Its been like this for about 4 days. Gone down slightly, but i really want the swelling to go down. I dont look like me. My face looks fat on one side becaise of the swelling. The actual cysts are hidden well under the skin. Recently I 've been taking extra good care of my face. I 've been putting warm washcloths on twice for ten minutes a day. Exfoliating once a week. And taking vitamins. I have noticed an improvement in my deep under the skin acne. The only problem is now, I have a whole bunch of black heads just popping up. I have had three or four bumps of cystic acne for about 4-5 days now on my forehead, and they still haven 't gone away, and I know if they don 't start shrinking down soon, it will get worse or give me permanent scars. I have never in my 19 years of being alive have had cystic acne. But I woke up this morning And I had a massive lump right below my left cheekbone and another one near my nose. How in the world do I get rid of this? No one in my family suffers from cystic acne and this has never happened to me!
Why are my cystic acne returning?
I have drinking at least 6-8 water bottles a day; ate more healthy food like staying away from greasy and fast food of just about any kind; eat some fruits ( not veggies cuz I don 't like them at all but I 've tried but didn 't work ) ; sleep on my pillow cases differently for each night ; clean my face at least 2x a day with Dermify; try to stay away from anything that would make me stress out So why is it returning? I have been having cystic acne for the past two months now along with my acne that looked like it was getting better back then but now they still return around my face, and they usually go away within a week or two depending, but they return ( mostly around my cheeks, and no matter what I do, I can 't make them stop from coming with more. I don 't know what I am doing wrong.....Please help me.

My best friend told me about a situation about placing a hot wet towel over your pimples or painful ones like cystic acne, and I thought it would be maybe a good idea, but not really sure. I have had cystic acne since i was 13 and i am now 19. I have been on many prescriptions and creams but nothing worked for me. Then I started proactiv and it worked for about a year and a half and then it stopped working completely. I grew immune. And now my dermo has me on benzaclin and ziana and some solodyn antibiotics. Things are looking worse, but i hear it get worse before it gets better? If anyone has any advice on what helped them with their cystic acne (deep knots under the skin that wont surface), please help me. Anything is deeply appreciated. Thank you so much

I have hereditary cystic-acne. If you don 't know what that is, it 's when your acne/ zits are so inflammed the skin forms cysts under the skin and a lot of the time the pimples are underneath the skin, forming these knots under the surface. Cystic acne leaves very bad acne scars too. I don 't have it as bad as other members in my family, but occasionally I get a nasty zit or two.Do you know any/ Are there any over the counter acne meds that might work better than clearasil ointment?

I have tried oral antibiotics such as tetracycline and others like it, all worked okay but soon i became immune and no longer would the bacteria fighting agents be affective. Instead of continuing down the RX path, i would rather try natural or day spa treatments. Has anybody tried natural supplements for CYSTIC ACNE or got spa services that showed improvement in the skin? In case you don 't know, CYSTIC ACNE is a whole different kind of acne. Produced by non typical oils, acids, and bacteria in the follicle and dis functions shedding dead skin cells. Therefore products like proactive and such topical acne treatments are completely pointless. Also does anyone know of any kind of creams that will reduce the purplish color that comes with this kind of acne? Please no recommendations that haven 't been successful for you or someone you know. Does taking doxycycline help cystic acne or any acne problems?
Back in, during in October of last year, I used to had only mild acne that my mother kinda got a little worried about, but I thought there was nothing wrong really. Our family doctor prescribed me doxycycline 100 mg tablets to take 2 times a day. And so I did along with Retin-A cream. But during the first week back then, my skin began to peel alot and I know that what 's the cream was suppose to do, but I didn 't want it to continue since I went to college and didn 't wish to continue to have peeling skin while going to my classes so I stop using it, but I kept going with the tablets. But during as the first week passed, I began to vomit really bad on the last day of the week and I tried to hold it back, but then it suddenly went through my nose and burned like hell! So then I thought of stop taking them due to that side effect. Months passed by till I began to experience pretty bad cystic acne for awhile along with my mild acne that began to start to grow and start from going to moderate to now somewhat severe. I never had bad acne till back then and now. I think it was because it was my crazy hormones that were being erupting inside me to cause it cuz I am aging and now I am 19 years old and will be 20 in July this year. So I realized it that I was getting severe or moderately severe adult acne on me cuz my acne is keeps on coming and they get better abit but then they get worse again. It 's a neverending cycle to me for the past few months now and I am getting tired of it. So now, I began to use Dermify for awhile for the past month. It worked quite well for the first two weeks but then during the 3rd and 4th week my monthly hormones were acting up due to my menstrual cycle, and made my acne flare up red and more cystic acne. Till last night, my mother then asked me if I was taking my pills of doxycycline, but I told her I wasn 't cuz of my last incident of vomiting pretty bad. She thought that it was all in my head, but I told her about how I can be sensitive with some things. so I haven 't taking the medicine for about 4 months now, but then I thought I should try to take them once again, but b4 I did, I read through some of people 's stories about taking this sort of medicine. I knew that I wasn 't alone. There seemed to be quite some side effects that I never knew on. But the only small side effects that I had was only a alittle sore throat ( as if my pill didn 't go now properly into my stomach, vomiting * I think it was cuz I didn 't drink much water back then but now I do * and I think that was it.No other huge side effects that began to happen to me like other people were. So I thought of taking it again but more properly this time since I do eat healthy now other than eating lots of junk food back then. So I want to see if the medicine will help me this time for the next two weeks. Hopefully I don 't get huge side effects, cuz I really want my acne to get better each month besides being caused by my monthly erupting hormones. But I 'm not sure how long does the medicine takes effect. Does everyone know how long that the medicine take effect? Cuz I want to know b4 my next monthly menstrual cycle comes soon ( I think in about two weeks ) I think I heard it takes about either a few days or a couple of weeks to take affect, but not sure.Please tell me.
What to do about cystic acne?
i had an ordinary pimple along my right jaw bone and i had consumed more adderall then i probably should have so i was picking at it for quit a while then a few days later another one showed up, this one was a cystic pimple and now i have about 5-6 at a time and once one heals (which takes WEEKS) another one or two will show up. they arent pop-able and if anything, oil and blood comes out, no pus and the zits are easily movable under the skin and feel like little rocks/ lumps. ive tried over the counter acne creams and they work to clear up one or two but more show up and the cream doesn 't work for the ones that aren 't fully developed and deeper under the skin. im wondering if this is something i should see a dermatologist for or if theres something (that works) that i can buy in a store and if me picking the one ordinary pimple caused all the others to start up. also, the zits arent painful or red unless i really mess with them, which i gave up on doing. when i press down on the bones and move my hand across, i can feel several of these lumps. sorry its so long, tried to make it detailed as possible.
Why do I get cystic acne around my mouth and some on my cheeks before and during my Time of the Month?
I began to get some severe cases of cystic acne mostly around my mouth and abit on my cheeks and sometimes my forehead before I was on my period and now I am still getting some during the period as well. Why is this happening? I tried to be very careful when washing my face 2x a day, but I still get them anyway. Why is that? okay well i had a acne nodule, for about two months now. the last couple days i 've been putting clearasil on it to dry it up. today i put a baking soda compress on it, & it popped! i didn 't intentionally pop it. i squeeze out the pus & it went down a LOT but its still red like before. now clear liquids coming out but it hasnt bled. will it go away soon? & i have a little red bump, its been there for a few days. is this another nodule coming? usually i have very mild acne..i never really get these. & if it is a nodule how can i stop it from getting big?oh the little red bump isn 't itchy or painful. its the size of a regular pimple.
I had bad cystic acne about a year ago and i went to my dermatologist who put me on antibiotics in about 4?
months it cleared up completely. So for about 7 months after that i was compltely acne free and i meen completely maybe a pimple here or there but thats it so about 3 months ago i started getting acne again and even tho it wasnt cystic it was still getting pretty bad. So i returned to the dermatologist he sed my body was porbably ajusting to mi current antibiotic so he switched me to anew one. for few weeks on the new antibiotic my acne stayed the same but then i started getting even worse breakouts and theyed clear up and then i start breaking out again so overall my acne is getting worse. so i went back to the dermatologist figuring the nu medicine wasnt working but he just sed i need to give it time. so now ive been on this new antibiotic for about 5 close to 6 weeks and my acne is getting worse and worse literally by the day pleez help me i dont know what to do. i Know it takes 6-8 weeks to see results when using antibiotics but shod my acne be getting worse like this?

I 'm a 25 year-old female. I have adult acne and have had this for over 6 years. It 's even worse than when I was a teen. It happens on my thoracic back, a little on the chest, and mostly on my lower face. It 's really the deep kind of pimples that just stay forever and come back at the same places. I 've tried everything. Washing face twice daily with mild cleansers, applying benzoyl peroxide. I 've been prescribed topical Clindoxyl gel with Minocycline pills. Sometimes I have better days. I 'll notice that after my period I 'll have 3-4 days of "better " skin.The health system here is crazy, I 'd have to put my name on a 2yr waiting list to get a new prescription. At this point I just feel my body is either trying to reject something by the skin or unbalanced hormonally and I truly believe there is a natural way to fix this. Thing is, for years I have been researching the internet and nobody seems to have anything that drastically improved their skin condition.... Has anyone had very similar symptoms and highly improved the condition of their skin by doing anything that doesn 't involve prescriptions or creams?I do live in Canada, thanks for the answers, I 'll try the vitamin E, I believe I have some!

I have whiteheads (pimples filled with sebum/ excess keratin etc.) Just your standard run of the mill pimples, all gathered around my chin. I am 17 so I assume this is hormonal as well as the dry, winter weather.I was just on Cefdinir for a sinus infection and I saw vast improvement in my face, yet the doctors refuse to give me any more. I 've tried Doxycycline, Mino, Tetra, Sulfa(Bactrim), etc. all to no avail. My acne is very stubborn it seems.QUESTION : Will Erythromycin work on the whiteheads ? It seems that most of the oral antibiotics prescribed for acne only REALLY get to kill the cystic type.

I am 35 years old and I have NEVER in my life had break outs like the ones I 'm getting recently. I have been unemployed for some time and VERY stressed out about finances and I don 't know if that 's causing these breakouts or if it 's simply due to hormones and my age. How can I hide these things!!!!! I 've had one since July! It feels bruised and its red. My derm has me on accutane.. its working every where but then now I 'm in my third month and i just got another one on my right cheek. It wont pop. Its just dry around it and beat red. Makeup barely covers it. I have to reapply it every minute I feel like. Its embarrassing and hard to deal with. Is there a way to make it go down? Or be less red? My derm gave me the shots in it. It goes down for a little bit but comes back worse sometimes. He even numbed it and disgustingly popped it for me. It was NASTY but now its just scarred and I feel like theres stuff in there but I dont want to even touch it. Why wont it go away on its own? Can someone please help me. About a month ago, after developing a huge cyst on my cheek (I 'm not kidding when I say huge. It 's literally bigger than a quarter.) I went to see my dermatologist for the first time. I got a few prescriptions and have been using them as directed, but there 's next to no sign of this cyst going down. I 'm not big on shots, hence why I turned it down originally, but now I see I have just about no choice. I 'm also here because I have a stomach ulcer that i found out today via blood testing, but about a week ago i had a cystic pimple (just one in particular, i have some on my chest and back) on my jawline about 2 inches wide. Kind of hidden in my beard, but the doctors can feel it. I was supposed to start doxycycline, but i didn 't know if i was allergic or not so i held off. A dermatologist shot me up with hydrocortisone and it went down for about a week, now it 's back and hurts just as bad. I can barely eat and it is most certainly swollen and infected.
