its not really acne scars i have on my face, its small red spots, which are smooth to touch, not bumpy, but i have prescribed tretinoin treatment .05%. Does anyone know how long this will take to worK? has anyone used it before? Thanks!
Who has had successful treatment for mild acne and acne scarring?
I 've had acne since I was 12. It got really, really bad when I was 16-18, now I 'm 22 and I have mild to moderate acne. But that "bad " phase left me with scarring. Not god-awful, but definately noticeable. I 've done literally almost every prescription and over-the-counter product out there. Proactiv was what got me out of the "bad " phase so I still use that, but I 've tried tetra and doxy to no avail (was on doxy for 2 years!), retin A, Tazorac, Clen, etc. I 've also had chemical peels. Nothing seems to change my acne condition, so I want to addres something that seems more likely to change - the scarring. Like I said, it 's not horrible like those pics you see on Google, just noticeable. So I 've looked at fraxel, CO2, those lasers, and my concern is that people either loved it or had horror-movie results. Also, they say your acne should be "under control ". What does that mean?So basically, I want to hear from people who have successfully used laser treatments for mild scarring, how many treatments it took, and how much it cost? And did you have active acne when you went it? How was it after?Added details: I was on an accutane series already, it didn 't work for me. And the scars aren 't colored at all, they 're just dimples in the skin (and a few icepicks), so the skin is obviously not even and smooth. Like I said, I 'm 22 now so I 've had these scars for years, they haven 't faded in the slightest.

I am thinking of using Accutane for acne treatment, but is it worth it?
I have been suffering with acne since I was 11, and it 's gotten worse. I get big painful pimples on my face, and my back. I am now 18, and nothing has worked for me.I 've been told that it has a lot of nasty side effects. Is it worth it? I had a pharmacist tell me that, since I was recently diagnosed with depression, that this may cause me to become more depressed. Also, would it be safe to take if I am taking other medications, like antidepressants? How quickly does it work? Is it guaranteed to work? Are the nasty side effects worth it? How much does it cost?I 've used almost any home remedy you can think of. None worked. Proactive didn 't work, various perscriptions didn 't work. I feel like I 've done anything I could.

I 've tried a few things, right now I got Proactive for Christmas but stopped it years ago. I don 't remember it greatly preventing pimples though, but i can 't remember. I do remember it leaving my skin burned. I really liked the way a product call Acnexus which was great for my skin, it left it clean, smooth, moisturized yet not greasy but didn 't really help treat acne. I 've tried some Netrogena but they always leave my skin red and dry feeling and leads to more pimples. Any way, what treatments that i haven 't heard of are out there? It can be a supplement or pill too, something that doesn 't dry my skin out yet helps fight acne.

I am a twenty year old who has struggled with acne for a whilemy acne is moderate/ severe, and has become cystic to the point where proactive ect. does not clean it upI am currently on Yaz/ spironolatone which has calmed it down in the past month, but my face is still covered in red marks and some under the skin whiteheadsI want to get rid of the gross redmarks, and also get rid of the cystic acne. I am thinking about getting a face peel, but i 'm not sure which one would be the most helpful. I was looking for one mainly which would get rid of the acne/ red marks while also refreshing my skin, which is somewhat worn even though I 'm young (I have a very fair complexion)has anyone had experience with facial peels/ laser and how did it help your skin?thanks

Birth control and Antibiotic for acne treatment?
I am both on Birth control (I switched to a new kind after two months of another birth control just making my acne worse) and an Antibiotic. Is this proven to yield better results then just birth control? Or will the antibiotic cancel the action of the birth control? I am on a low-ish dose of birth control. I am young, and also the Gynecologist told me that a high dose of birth control can make my skin worse. Do you think that this will work together well?

A really effective treatment for spots/acne?
I am nearly 14 and I am a girl and have a really bad outbreak of spots on my forehead and on my scalp, some being directly on my hairline and hurting when I brush my hair. My hair is cropped relatively short and I wash it often so the spots cannot be aided by greasy hair, but Still the remain dominant and are multiplying onto my nose and under my eyes and some are on my chin. My pores also seem to be inflamed on my cheeks. This really frustrates me as I use Clearasil ointment which guarantees to noticeably fight spots in three days, Clearasil pore perfect lotion and take clear complexion tablets (non-prescription) and although the spots have decreased in redness a little they tingle and burn a lot and are quite 'aggressive ', if I can say that for spots!! I try to drink plenty of water and wash my face morning and night, first with warm water then with cold. I put in a whole lot of effort in trying to clear my spots but it seems to be to no effect and I feel really frustrated and saddened. I wear dream-matte-mousse foundation to cover them up a bit to make them less noticeable, and I suppose this doesn 't aid matters, but if I didn 't wear make up I would feel so embarrassed by my spots.So, please, does anyone know a really effective (natural if possible) treatment for acne/ spots or will my GP be willing to give me medication for acne?
